PRACTICAL GUIDE FOR THE TRAVELER
UBATE
Formerly populated by the Muisca culture, Ubaté is a destination where you can appreciate peasant labor, dairy production, cultural heritage, and religious traditions. In this municipality, you can see 34 species of birds and explore its mountains and hills by bike or on foot.
HOW TO GET THERE?
By Air
- Air: Ubaté does not have an airport; the nearest airport is located in Bogotá. You can arrive by plane to Bogotá and then use the ground transportation options described later.
- Transportation via intercity buses. The Ubaté bus agency is called "Rápido del Carmen" and will take you to their office in Ubaté. Taxis can be found at the bus stop to take you to San Antonio Rural Accommodation; this is the advantage of being so close to town. If we have availability, we can also pick you up at the bus agency.
- Transportation by white-plate taxi from Bogotá.
- Private Car:
- From Bogotá, take the northern highway toward Chiquinquirá.
- From Boyacá, take the Chiquinquirá-Ubaté highway (this is the route with the best road from Boyacá; trust us, no matter what the navigation apps tell you).
- From Santander, take Route 45A.
- Motorcycle
- Bicycle
